SPYWARE
Spyware is a type of malware that can be installed on computers, and which collects small pieces of information about users without their knowledge. The presence of spyware is typically hidden from the user, and can be difficult to detect. Typically, spyware is secretly installed on the user's personal computer. Sometimes, however, spywares such as keyloggers are installed by the owner of a shared, corporate, or public computer on purpose in order to secretly monitor other users.
Spyware programs can collect various types of personal information, such as Internet surfing habits and sites that have been visited, but can also interfere with user control of the computer in other ways, such as installing additional software and redirecting Web browser activity. Spyware is known to change computer settings, resulting in slow connection speeds, different home pages, and/or loss of Internet connection or functionality of other programs. In an attempt to increase the understanding of spyware, a more formal classification of its included software types is provided by the term privacy-invasive software.

RANSOMWARE !!!
Once ransomware has been installed on a computer, it can encrypt files on the computer as well as data on files servers and NAS systems. Once it has finished encrypting files with a Very Long Password Key, a message will be displayed for the user with instructions for retrieving lost files. In some cases the message will imply that the FBI, UK Police , or some other government agency encrypted your files due to illegal activity. In other cases, the criminals will state up-front that they have illegally encrypted your files and the only way to retrieve them is by paying the ransom.
REMOVING THE THREAT
Three ways of removing the threat from your system are....
Step One - The Remote Removal - This involves me logging in to your system (with your permission) and purging the virus live. Unfortunately, some viruses are particularly good at protecting themselves and will try to lock up your system. This takes us to step two.
Step Two - Software - This is the utilization of toolkits and software. This involves selectively targeting the offending virus/program and removing it at source. Sometimes, there can be more than one virus or a self resurrecting virus which can cause reinfection upon deletion. In addition some viruses are very advanced and can make themselves invisible to these toolkits and programs. This brings us to step three.
Step Three - The Deep Clean - This is the final and ultimate solution. This is when 100% peace of mind is desired and all else has failed up to now. This will involve the backing up of all desired and important data and rebuilding the operating system from scratch. The positive side to this "Spring Clean" your system can benefit from increased speed and any additional spyware or viruses have no chance of resurrecting themselves.
